Making Space Charlotte Falk

Making Space is a series of participatory public art building workshops in the neighbourhoods of Mount Pleasant and the West End in Vancouver, and Horseshoe Bay, West Vancouver.

Charlotte Falk will lead the group in activities that examine how spatial opportunities can be found through various site analysis techniques.. Over the course of the three workshops, we will explore how existing site conditions interface with rudimentary materials and individual bodies,, resulting in site-specifc design interventions and temporary public artworks.

These events seek to democratize the ways in which residents interface with built environments as well as explore how spaces can be inclusively co-visioned. By promoting a dialogue which addresses the larger economic concern surrounding development and livable space,, participants are encouraged to challenge accepted norms surrounding the urban climate.

Charlotte Falk is an interdisciplinary artist, designer, and educator based in Vancouver. Her practice focuses on creative processes at the convergence of disciplines, analog and digital, and 2D/ 3D/ 4D, with an emphasis on how materiality, methodology, and technique impact not only process work, but also final outcomes.
